Dan Cooper
Position: Rider #20
2006 British 125 GP Champion
Daniel Cooper was the British 125 Champion in 2006. He joined the team for the 2007 season riding for the first time on the teams Honda 600’s. He excelled himself throughout the season with amazing results in his first season at this level.
Daniel is based in the village of Brimscombe, Nr. Stroud in Gloucestershire. Daniel started racing Mini-Moto's at age 11 and progressed on to 125cc machines at the age of 14. He has a wealth of experience for his age including 2 seasons in Spain racing in the CEV, the premier level of 125 racing below Moto Gp.
In 2006 saw Daniel win the British 125 Championship by a margin of 59 points. The points total belies the true storey of how the championship was won. He certainly did not have things his own way with 3 races where he failed to finish, 2 of those races due to mechanical failure. Daniel rode with great maturity throughout the season and showed great control and skill to win some of the races in difficult weather. The defining race for Daniel had to be round 11 at Cadwell Park when he overcame an atrocious start and recovered from position 14 in lap 1 to be second over the line in a shortened, 11 lap race. Daniel was considered a worthy winner of the Championship and attracted the attention of the cameras, press and the big race teams.
The 2008 season saw rapid progress in my riding and I even ended up on the front row at Brands Hatch. I am more than happy to be riding alongside Dennis Hobbs for this coming British Supersport 09 season. I have learnt a lot whilst being in this team and hopefully will bring in consistent results for 09.
